Tesla Track Package

Tesla Track Package Turns Model 3 Into a Track Monster

Tesla just introduced us to their new product which they are calling “Model 3 Track Package”. Track Package allows Model 3 drivers to optimize their track performance. Track Package is a hardware package which gives the car maximum braking performance, cornering force and high-speed stability. Consequently, this package gives the driver just the right tools to improve their lap times.

Track Package includes:

  • 4 x 20″ X 9″ Zero-G Performance wheels
  • 4 x Tesla logo center caps
  • 20 x Lug nut covers
  • 4 x 245/35ZR20 XL Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires
  • 4 x tire pressure sensors
  • 1 x front and rear high-performance brake pads
  • 1 x track-focused brake fluid

20″ X 9″ Zero-G Performance wheels give the driver greater grip and will improve handling on the track. Tesla has also included a new brake fluid in the Track Package that is more resistant to heat. The brake fluid works great in combination with the high-performance brake pads which are also designed to withstand higher temperatures.

Track Package is priced at $5,500 and this price includes shipping and installation. Tesla will ship to a service centre of your choosing. One thing to take note of is that Track Package will only be available for the Model 3 Performance Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive with the performance update. At this point in time, the Track Package is available to pre-order and Tesla are estimating that shipment will begin in April this year.

Track Mode V2

As a complement to the hardware package, Tesla has also released a new software update called Track Mode V2. The software update will give the owner access to real-time data for the Model 3´s motors, battery, tires and brakes. The update also includes a G-meter and a new function to track lap times. The function is called Lap Timer which allows the driver to drop a pin on the map. The pin will then act as a start/finish line and when the car passes this line, Track Timer will display an official lap time.

Track Mode V2 also allows drivers to save their specific settings. Furthermore, this means that they can create and save different track preferences that might be optimal for specific tracks. One Tesla can hold up to 20 customizable slots where the driver can save settings. Also, to access all the features in Track Mode V2 the car needs to have the new Track Package.

Track Package Review

Some lucky few have received the chance to try the new Track Package already. One lucky man was YouTuber EverythingApplePro who was invited to the Thunder Hill track to try out the new Track Package. EverythingApplePro was happy with the new updates and was impressed with the freedom that Track Mode V2 provides for the driver. He also said in the video that he was definitely getting Track Package for his Model 3 in the future.
